Aspen/Pitkin County airport (ASE) sits ten minutes from downtown Aspen, which is why almost everyone wants to land there. It is also one of the most restricted airports in US business aviation. The airport's own rules bar aircraft with a wingspan over 95 ft, and Stage III aircraft may not arrive between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am or depart between 10:30 pm and 7:00 am.
ASE eligibility depends on the individual aircraft's wingspan, landing weight and operating performance—not cabin class alone. The operator must confirm suitability. Eagle County (EGE) is an alternative when the selected aircraft cannot use Aspen or weather disrupts the planned arrival; the onward mountain drive is a separate part of the journey.
