Monaco Grand Prix by Private Jet

Monaco Grand Prix by Private Jet

Slot allocations at NCE, helicopter timing, and the yacht-versus-suite decision — the definitive logistics briefing for race week.

EUROPE · 8 MIN READ · APRIL 2026

Race weekend is the densest private aviation event on the European calendar — Nice Côte d'Azur processes more than 700 private movements in four days. Without an early slot booking and a confirmed FBO, jets are routinely diverted to Cannes, Toulon, or even Genoa.

Slot strategy

Slots at NCE for Thursday arrival and Sunday departure are released by Eurocontrol and consumed within hours. Booking should close by February. Cannes-Mandelieu (CEQ) is the standard alternate for medium and light jets; large-cabin aircraft typically reposition to Toulon-Hyères or Marseille.

The transfer

Heli Securité, Monacair and Blade operate the seven-minute hop to Monaco Heliport. The first slot windows of the morning and the post-race evening windows are the only chokepoints; midday is fluid. Yacht tenders from Cap-Ferrat or Beaulieu are the alternative for clients staying on board.

Where to base

Hôtel de Paris and Hôtel Métropole face the circuit directly — book 12 months out. The Maybourne Riviera offers more space and a 25-minute helicopter transfer. Most superyachts moor in Port Hercule with paddock-side viewing terraces.
