Mykonos opens around mid-May and runs hot through the third week of September. August 15 (Dekapendavgoustos) is the single busiest day on the island; the days either side compress almost every restaurant, table, and aircraft slot.
What's new for 2026
Two new beach clubs on the south coast, an extended terrace at Scorpios, and the reopening of a restored mansion in town as a 12-suite boutique. The most-discussed restaurant opening is a new tasting-menu room above Hora.
Aviation
JMK has a single runway with limited parking. The island's overflow plan routes aircraft to Athens (LGAV) or Syros (JSY) with helicopter shuttles. Slot booking should close by April for August traffic.
