Range
The maximum distance an aircraft can fly in still air with a defined payload, cruise altitude and fuel reserves.
IN PRACTICE
Quoted ranges almost always assume 4 passengers, NBAA IFR reserves, ISA conditions and long-range cruise. Real-world range can be 10-20% lower with full passengers, headwinds, or operations to a high-altitude airport.

Frequently asked
What does Range mean in private aviation?
The maximum distance an aircraft can fly in still air with a defined payload, cruise altitude and fuel reserves.
How is range calculated?
Quoted ranges almost always assume 4 passengers, NBAA IFR reserves, ISA conditions and long-range cruise. Real-world range can be 10-20% lower with full passengers, headwinds, or operations to a high-altitude airport.
Why does range affect my charter quote?
Performance figures determine whether an aircraft can fly your route non-stop, the runway it can use and the payload it can carry — all of which feed into pricing and aircraft selection.
