Davos sits in a high-altitude alpine valley with no private jet airport of its own. The entire WEF delegation enters via Zurich, Friedrichshafen, St. Gallen-Altenrhein or St. Moritz — followed by helicopter, ground or rail transfers.
Aircraft routing
Zurich (ZRH) is the largest gateway but the most congested during WEF week. St. Gallen-Altenrhein (ACH) handles up to G650-class aircraft with lighter traffic. Friedrichshafen (FDH) and Innsbruck (INN) are useful alternates. Samedan / St. Moritz (SMV) is the closest field but is altitude- and weather-limited.
The helicopter shuttle
WEF week sees a dedicated helicopter shuttle between Zurich and Davos operated by Skymedia and partners. Direct private helicopter charters book out months in advance — secure both inbound and outbound slots in a single booking.
Where to stay
Belvédère, Schatzalp, Steigenberger Grandhotel Belvédère and the InterContinental Davos are the WEF anchors. Private chalets in Klosters (15 minutes by road) offer more space and less pressure.
