Monaco compresses more wealth per square kilometre than anywhere on earth, and the summer calendar — Grand Prix in May, Red Cross Ball in July, Yacht Show in September — leaves almost no quiet weeks.
Arrival
Nice Côte d'Azur (NCE) is the standard private jet entry point; a Heli Securité or Monacair transfer covers the seven-minute hop to Monaco Heliport. Cannes-Mandelieu (CEQ) handles smaller jets and offers a slightly quieter FBO experience.
Where to stay
Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo for tradition, Hôtel Métropole for restraint, and the Maybourne Riviera (technically Roquebrune) for the most dramatic suites on the coast. The Princess Grace and Prince Rainier suites at de Paris are the most-requested.
Dining
Louis XV (Ducasse) remains the gastronomic anchor. Le Grill on the rooftop of de Paris, La Vigie at the Monte-Carlo Beach, and the recently relaunched Maona in summer are the must-book reservations.
