Cessna Citation VII Charter

The Cessna Citation VII was Cessna's 1992 development of the Citation III / VI — the fastest Citation of its era before the Citation X, with uprated Honeywell TFE731-4R engines and modernised avionics. Production ran from 1992 to 2000 with 119 units built. The VII was replaced in the Cessna line-up by the Citation Excel (which took the mid-size volume slot) and eventually the Sovereign (which took the top mid-size slot).

The Citation VII fleet is now mature and well-supported through Textron Aviation Services. On the charter market the VII is available at attractive hourly rates and remains a fast, capable mid-size option for cost-conscious clients.

Cabin dimensions: 18 feet 5 inches long, 5 feet 6 inches wide and 5 feet 8 inches tall — comparable to the Excel and its successors. Standard layout is a seven-passenger club-four plus three-place divan. Cabin management on original aircraft is dated; refurbished examples typically feature LED lighting, updated audio-video and improved trim.

Cabin altitude at FL450 is 7,600 ft. Baggage volume is 66 cubic feet. Lavatory is fully enclosed with vanity.

Twin Honeywell TFE731-4R engines deliver 4,080 pounds of thrust each. Maximum operating Mach is 0.83 — fast for the class. Certified ceiling is FL450. NBAA IFR range with four passengers is 1,950 nautical miles — enough for transcontinental US with a tech stop, or European mid-range missions non-stop.

Balanced field length is 5,140 ft. The Citation VII needs a proper runway.

Charter the Citation VII for cost-driven mid-size missions where speed matters and the airport list includes only proper runways. Refurbished aircraft deliver a reasonable cabin experience at attractive rates.

Prefer the Citation Excel or XLS+ for materially better runway performance and volume availability, or the Sovereign for a genuine transcontinental-range Citation mid-size upgrade.
