The booking order that works
Booking the jet first is the most common and most expensive mistake. Berths on the Riviera in season are allocated months ahead, and a jet slot can be moved far more easily than a Vieux Port berth in July.
- —1. Yacht berth or anchorage window at Cannes / Antibes / Golfe-Juan — the least flexible element
- —2. Helicopter transfer or tender slot tied to the berth window
- —3. Jet arrival slot at Nice sized to land 90 minutes before the tender window
- —4. Aircraft parking or repositioning plan for the duration of the cruise
- —5. Return jet slot, booked at the same time as the outbound
Handover logistics
From Nice, the fastest transfer to a yacht lying off Cannes is a helicopter to Cannes-Mandelieu or a yacht helipad, followed by a short tender run. Where the yacht carries a certified helideck, direct ship-to-shore rotations remove the road leg entirely. Where it does not, plan a Nice–Cannes helicopter followed by a tender from the Quai Laubeuf, and allow 45 minutes end to end including baggage.
| Element | Typical 2026 cost | Note |
|---|---|---|
| London–Nice midsize jet | €15,000 – €19,000 | One way |
| Nice–Cannes helicopter | €1,200 – €2,400 | Per rotation, up to 6 pax |
| 40m motor yacht, week | €130,000 – €190,000 | Plus APA and VAT |
| Tender / shore transfers | Included by yacht | Coordinate with berth window |
Timing the week
Riviera charter weeks conventionally run Saturday to Saturday. Arriving Friday evening and overnighting ashore in Cannes or Cap d'Antibes removes the risk of a delayed jet compressing the yacht handover, and it is almost always cheaper than a Saturday-morning arrival slot in high season. On the return, plan the jet departure for the afternoon: morning slots at Nice on a changeover Saturday are the most heavily contested of the week.
Booking with the Limitless Sky desk
Limitless Sky is an independent charter broker. We hold no fleet, so we quote the whole market and sequence the jet, the FBO slot, the helicopter or car transfer and the arrival window as one itinerary. Quotes are all-inclusive — aircraft, crew, fuel, handling, landing and parking — and are returned within 10 minutes, 24/7.
Peak-event slots and parking are the real constraint, not aircraft availability. Book the slot first and the aircraft second; that is the single decision that separates a smooth arrival from a three-hour diversion.
FAQ
Frequently asked
Should I book the jet or the yacht first for a Cannes trip?
The yacht. Berths and charter weeks on the Riviera are allocated months ahead and are far less flexible than a jet slot at Nice, which can usually be moved within a day.
How do I get from Nice airport to a yacht at Cannes?
A seven-minute helicopter to Cannes-Mandelieu or a yacht helideck, then a tender. Allow 45 minutes end to end including baggage; road transfer takes 35–75 minutes depending on traffic.
What does a combined jet and yacht week cost on the Riviera?
As an indicative 2026 package from London: €15,000–€19,000 each way for a midsize jet, €1,200–€2,400 per helicopter rotation, and €130,000–€190,000 for a 40-metre motor yacht for the week plus APA and VAT.
Should the jet stay at Nice during the cruise?
Normally no. For stays beyond two nights, repositioning to Marseille, Genoa or Turin and recalling the aircraft is cheaper than in-season Nice parking.
When should the return flight depart on changeover day?
Afternoon. Saturday-morning departure slots at Nice are the most contested of the week during the Mediterranean season.
