The story behind the Challenger 650
Bombardier launched the Challenger 650 in 2015 as the third-generation refresh of the 604/605 line — same fuselage, same wing, uprated GE CF34-3B1 engines with more thrust and better hot-and-high performance, a redesigned Nuage-style cabin and Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 Advanced avionics with synthetic vision. The 650 remains in current production and is the flagship of Bombardier's wide-cabin heavy-jet line, sitting between the super-midsize Challenger 3500 and the ultra-long-range Global family.
For charter the 650 is the most contemporary wide-cabin heavy jet available with Bombardier's service network — the newest cabin, the best avionics and the most refined systems on a proven, mature airframe. It sits directly against the Gulfstream G450 (out of production but plentiful on charter) and the Falcon 2000LX/S in the eight-to-twelve-passenger transatlantic segment.
