Dassault Falcon 900B Charter

The Dassault Falcon 900B was the 1991 development of the original Falcon 900 — same fuselage and wing, uprated Honeywell TFE731-5BR engines with more thrust and hot-and-high margin, and increased maximum take-off weight for a 400 nm range improvement. Production ran through 1999 when the 900EX took over, with around 90 units built.

The 900B is the mature, value-priced trijet on the pre-owned market — the original Falcon 900 concept refined into a durable, capable heavy jet at charter rates well below the 900EX and 900LX. For clients who want three-engine reliability at the lowest possible cost, the 900B is the aircraft.

Cabin dimensions match all Falcon 900 variants: 33 feet 2 inches long, 7 feet 8 inches wide and 6 feet 2 inches tall — genuine three-zone widebody. Standard layout is a 12-passenger three-zone configuration. Cabin management on original 900Bs is dated — analogue reading lights and limited AV; refurbished aircraft frequently feature LED lighting, updated cabin displays and Iridium retrofits.

Baggage volume is 127 cubic feet accessed in-flight. The lavatory is fully enclosed with vanity and belted seat. Galley is forward-right with hot and cold storage.

Three Honeywell TFE731-5BR engines deliver 4,750 pounds of thrust each. Maximum operating Mach is 0.84; long-range cruise Mach 0.78. Certified ceiling is FL510. NBAA IFR range with eight passengers is 4,000 nautical miles — enough for London to New York (favourable winds), London to Dubai, Los Angeles to Honolulu or Dubai to Singapore with a comfortable margin.

Balanced field length at MTOW is 5,215 ft. Landing distance is 2,415 ft. Retains the trijet's exceptional short-field performance and ETOPS-free routing.

Charter hourly rates run $7,500–$9,000 in North America; €8,000–€9,500 in Europe — meaningfully below the 900EX and 900LX. Empty-leg availability is broad in Europe and Middle East markets. Indicative pricing: London to Dubai from £46,000; Paris to New York from €62,000; Dubai to Bangkok from $58,000.

Against the 900EX the 900B gives up 500 nm of range and modern avionics at 20–25 per cent lower cost. Charter the 900B when trijet reliability and Falcon cabin experience are decisive and budget matters. Prefer the 900EX or 900LX when range or modern avionics are important. For value-driven three-engine heavy-jet charter, the 900B is a genuinely strong option.
