REGULATION · GLOSSARY
FAA
The US Federal Aviation Administration — the agency responsible for regulating all aspects of civil aviation in the United States.
IN PRACTICE
The FAA issues pilot certificates, certifies aircraft, certifies operators (Part 135, Part 121, Part 145 etc.), and runs the US air traffic control system. It does not regulate brokers — that role falls to the DOT under Part 295.

Which authority enforces faa?
In the United States, the FAA (under 14 CFR) is the lead authority. In Europe, EASA sets the framework, implemented by national CAAs. Operators flying internationally must comply with the regulation of every state they operate to.

Indirectly, yes. Regulatory requirements drive operator costs, callout times and route options, which flow through to charter pricing and aircraft availability.
