Bombardier Global 8000 Charter

The Bombardier Global 8000 is the Global 7500 airframe re-optimised for maximum range and maximum speed — 8,000 nautical miles of nonstop capability and a top cruise of Mach 0.94, both new class-defining numbers. Announced in 2022, certified in 2025 and entering service through 2025–2026, the 8000 targets the longest business-jet missions in existence: Sydney to London and Los Angeles to Bangkok as single nonstop segments, with fuel reserves at eight passengers.

For charter clients the 8000 is the aircraft you specify when both range and speed matter and money is not the primary constraint. It is direct competition for the Gulfstream G700/G800 flagship pair — the only other production business jets with credible 7,700-plus-nm range and Mach 0.90-plus cruise. Fleet availability through 2026 will be thin; expect to book months in advance for long-haul missions.

Cabin dimensions: 54 feet 4 inches long, 8 feet in width and 6 feet 3 inches tall — identical to the Global 7500's four-zone cabin, the largest in any production business jet other than airliner conversions. Standard layout is 17 passengers across a dedicated club-four, formal dining/conference, entertainment lounge and aft private stateroom with en-suite lavatory. The Nuage seat family is standard throughout; the crew rest is dedicated forward of the main cabin.

Cabin altitude at FL410 is 2,900 ft — the lowest in the industry and identical to the 7500. Baggage volume is 195 cubic feet, in-flight accessible. The nice HD+ cabin management system offers 4K OLED displays, voice control and Ka-band Wi-Fi. The 8000's specific tuning improves cabin acoustics by roughly 3 dB versus the 7500 through additional insulation added during the range-optimisation programme.

Twin GE Passport engines deliver 18,920 pounds of thrust each with 8000-specific software tuning for higher thrust at cruise altitudes. Maximum operating Mach is 0.94 — the highest of any production business jet other than the certified-but-out-of-production Citation X+. Long-range cruise Mach 0.85. Certified ceiling is FL510. NBAA IFR range with eight passengers is 8,000 nautical miles — enough for Sydney to London, Los Angeles to Bangkok, Hong Kong to New York or Perth to Zurich as single nonstop segments.

Balanced field length at MTOW is 5,760 ft. Landing distance is 2,240 ft. Runway performance is unchanged from the 7500. The fly-by-wire flight control system, side-stick cockpit and Vision Flight Deck with combined-vision head-up display remain the most advanced business-jet cockpit in service alongside the Falcon 10X and Gulfstream Symmetry.

Charter hourly rates run $18,500–$22,000 in North America; €19,000–€23,000 in Europe — a premium of 10–15 per cent over the Global 7500 reflecting scarcity, delivery-position value and range capability. Empty-leg availability through 2026 will be minimal. Indicative pricing: London to Sydney from £340,000; Los Angeles to Bangkok from $325,000; Hong Kong to New York from $310,000.

Against the Global 7500 the 8000 adds 900 nm of range and Mach 0.04 of top speed at 10–15 per cent higher cost with an identical cabin. Against the Gulfstream G800 the 8000 offers 100 nm more range and Bombardier's four-zone cabin format against Gulfstream service network and 300 nm more brochure range at MMO cruise. The 8000 is the aircraft to specify for the world's longest single-leg missions.
