Dassault Falcon 2000LXS Charter

The Dassault Falcon 2000LX is the 2009 development of the Falcon 2000EX — the twin-engine heavy jet that broke Dassault's traditional trijet-only philosophy in the heavy segment. The LX added Aviation Partners high-Mach winglets, boosting range from 3,800 nm to 4,000 nm without any other changes, and became the flagship of the 2000 family until the further-improved 2000LXS took over in 2014.

The 2000 series is Dassault's answer to the Challenger 600 and Gulfstream G350 category — genuine heavy-jet cabin volume on a twin, at operating economics that outperform the Falcon 900 line and challenge the Challenger family. For charter the 2000LX is the modern twin-engine Falcon heavy, offering an eight-to-ten-passenger transatlantic capability with best-in-class runway performance.

Cabin dimensions: 26 feet 3 inches long, 7 feet 8 inches wide and 6 feet 2 inches tall — full Dassault widebody cross-section, narrower only than the current G500 in the twin-engine heavy class. Standard layout is a nine-passenger double-club plus three-place divan. Cabin management is Falcon Cabin HD+ on late-production aircraft with Ka-band Wi-Fi standard.

Baggage volume is 134 cubic feet accessed in-flight. The lavatory is fully enclosed with vanity, natural light and belted seat. Galley is forward-right with hot and cold storage.

Twin Pratt & Whitney Canada PW308C engines deliver 7,000 pounds of thrust each. Maximum operating Mach is 0.86; long-range cruise Mach 0.80. Certified ceiling is FL470. NBAA IFR range with eight passengers is 4,000 nautical miles — enough for New York to London (with reserves), London to Dubai, Los Angeles to Honolulu or Dubai to Singapore.

Balanced field length at MTOW is 4,675 ft — dramatically better than any Challenger or Gulfstream heavy of comparable range. Landing distance is 2,315 ft. The 2000LX is the runway-flexibility leader in the modern heavy class.

Charter hourly rates run $9,500–$11,000 in North America; €10,000–€12,000 in Europe. Empty-leg availability is moderate. Indicative pricing: New York to London from $70,000; London to Dubai from £55,000; Aspen to New York from $34,000.

Against the Challenger 605 the 2000LX offers dramatically better runway performance and comparable cabin at similar cost. Against the G450 the 2000LX offers better short-field access and gives up 100 nm of range. Charter the 2000LX when short-field access matters on a wide heavy-jet cabin — the Falcon that competes on runway flexibility as well as cabin.
