OVERVIEW

Gulfstream G350

The Gulfstream G350 is a short-range derivative of the G450 — the same fuselage, cabin and PlaneView flight deck with reduced fuel capacity and 3,800 nm of range at a materially lower hourly cost. The Gulfstream heavy cabin on transcontinental missions rather than transatlantic.

IN DEPTH

The complete guide to chartering the Gulfstream G350

The story behind the Gulfstream G350

The Gulfstream G350 is the short-range derivative of the G450 — same fuselage, cabin, PlaneView flight deck and Rolls-Royce Tay engines with reduced fuel capacity for a 3,800 nm range and correspondingly lower hourly cost. Production ran from 2004 to 2011 alongside the G450, with around 40 units built for clients who wanted the full Gulfstream heavy cabin on shorter missions.

For charter the G350 is the specialist: full G450 cabin and cockpit at meaningfully lower hourly rates, on the tradeoff of transcontinental rather than transatlantic range. It suits clients whose typical missions are US coast-to-coast, London-Dubai or Dubai-Singapore rather than transatlantic non-stop.

On board

Cabin dimensions match the G450: 45 feet 1 inch long, 7 feet 4 inches wide and 6 feet 2 inches tall. Standard layout is a 14-passenger three-zone configuration. Cabin management is Rockwell Collins Airshow with PlaneView cabin displays; late-production aircraft feature Iridium or Ka-band Wi-Fi as retrofit or standard.

Baggage volume is 169 cubic feet accessed in-flight. The lavatory is fully enclosed with vanity, natural light and belted seat. Galley is a full three-crew installation.

Performance

Twin Rolls-Royce Tay 611-8 engines deliver 13,850 pounds of thrust each. Maximum operating Mach is 0.88; long-range cruise Mach 0.80. Certified ceiling is FL450. NBAA IFR range with eight passengers is 3,800 nautical miles — enough for New York to Los Angeles, London to Dubai, Dubai to Bangkok or Los Angeles to Honolulu.

Balanced field length at MTOW is 5,050 ft — slightly better than the G450 thanks to lower gross weight. Landing distance is 3,260 ft.

Missions, economics and verdict

Charter hourly rates run $7,500–$9,000 in North America; €8,000–€9,500 in Europe — 15–20 per cent below the G450. Empty-leg availability is thin because the fleet is small. Indicative pricing: New York to Los Angeles from $48,000; London to Dubai from £52,000; Aspen to New York from $34,000.

The G350 is the value option in the Gulfstream heavy line — full G450 cabin on transcontinental range at lower cost. Prefer the G450 when transatlantic capability is required; prefer the G350 when the mission is confined to shorter sectors and hourly cost matters.

WHO SHOULD CHARTER THIS

Why choose the Gulfstream G350?

The right client profile for the G350: 14 passengers, missions inside its 3,800 nm range, and routes where the heavy jet cabin size is the sweet spot between cost and comfort.

  • Full G450 cabin with 3,800 nm range
  • Lower hourly cost than G450
  • PlaneView flight deck

RANGE & LIMITATIONS

What the G350 can — and can't — do

Non-stop range

3,800 nm with typical payload. Missions beyond this figure require a technical fuel stop — expect 30–45 minutes on the ground and a modest re-quote. On strong headwinds or full-cabin days the practical range trims by 5–10%.

Runway requirement

Balanced-field length around 5,050 ft. Rules out very short-strip airfields (Courchevel, Lugano, London City steep-approach) unless the airframe is specifically certified — our ops team validates every airport pairing before we confirm the quote.

Payload & baggage

169 cu ft of hold space with 14 passengers. Ski, golf and dive equipment fit for most parties; larger groups with full luggage should size up one category to preserve the range figure above.
